The Seven Sacraments
Sacrament of Baptism: All couples who plan to have their baby baptized at Saint Gabriel are to notify the rectory at the beginning of the pregnancy. A proper period of instruction is required. All sponsors should be carefully selected and must be at least 16 years of age. Non-practicing, fallen-away Catholics are not eligible for sponsorship, even if they are close relatives and friends. Sponsors are required to bring a letter of eligibility from their parish church. Baptisms are held on the third Sunday of the month at 10:00 a.m. Mass. Parents should contact the Rectory.
Sacrament of Marriage: Diocesan policy requires that couples planing to marry contact the parish at least six months before the intended date. All couples are required to attend pre-marital instructions in preparation for marriage.
Sacrament of Confirmation: TBD
Sacrament of Eucharist: Communion is also part of the Mass per the above schedule.
Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick: In case of serious illness, or advanced age, please call the priest. Priests and Communion Ministers distribute communion to those who are sick and elderly as well as to those unable to attend Mass.
Emergency Sick Calls will receive prompt attention any hour, day or night. Sick calls should not be deferred until the person is unconscious or in imminent danger of death.
